【 Divergence Meter】 Summary

Steins;Gate | 命运石之门 | シュタインズゲート went online in Oct. 2009 as a game. In April 2011, an anime adaptation aired in Japan.

In Sept. 2013, the movie 《超负荷的既视领域》 was released. Soon it becomes super popular to millions comic fans. As a continuation, “Zero(STEINS;GATE 0) | [命运石之门0]” will be released in Nov. 2015. The “Divergence Meter |世界线变动率探测仪”, like a leading actor, plays an important role throughout the whole story line.

Unlike others, I got to know nixie tubes much earlier than this comics. I was impressed by the special design of the Divergence Meter on my first sight. From the few presence of the Divergence Meter, one can tell that the designer has basic electronics knowledge, as the details of the electrical parts are very close to actual ones in the real world. Shortly after that, I came up with the idea of making a replica of the Divergence Meter.

There has been many replica of this Divergence Meter from around the world, designed by comics fans, electronic hobbyist, etc. However, none of them can claim to be “perfect” judging by their similarity, details, accuracy and features.

I actually started my design in July 2014. After one year of design and fabrication, I am excited to announce that the Divergence Meter is being released today! For those who are familiar with the styles of my projects, one year of design is fairly moderate among my many designs. Many efforts had been put into this product, including structure design, software engineering, and even the selection of screws.

如果我们去评价一件作品,往往会去注意其细节。是否用心去做,其实就是是否用心去处理细节之处,尤其是在制作Divergence Meter的时候,原作已经通过一些镜头将细节展示给了我们,能否完美的在现实中再现,虽然有一定难度,但我更愿意享受这个过程。本章将会分享一些在制作过程中对于外观细节的考虑与设计思路,包括外观零配件的选用等等,一切都以追求完美为出发点,尽可能的把Dievergence Meter在现实中再现。

关于机身外壳材质的选择
Divergence Meter的外壳分为两个部分,一个部分是顶部的面板,前面分析过也对比过,从作者本意来看她其实是一块万能电路板,均匀分布着标准IC间距(0.1英寸/2.54mm)的小孔。第二部分是前后左右加底部共5个面。这两个部分从Steins;Gate原作的截图上分析,作者的本意是通过顶部面板上的6颗六角铜柱来固定的,下面的前后左右四个面通过截图也能看出来作者本意是通过拐角的四个包角和螺丝来固定。结构方案的设计在 第一章 Divergence Meter 结构方案设计 中已经阐述过,本次作品在结构上的设计也是遵循我们分析出来的固定方式,在这里我想和大家分享一下选择机身外壳材质时的一些想法。

单独把外壳的制作过程拿出来讲,其实是因为在这个过程中我走了很多弯路,正是这样的经历让我慢慢熟悉了一些加工工艺的过程,也算是一种经验积累,希望能与大家一起分享一下。

顶部的PCB面板在制作加工的过程中基本上不需要我参与,PCB加工厂会严格的按照我的图纸上的尺寸和规格来生产出一模一样的东西,这里主要讲一讲底部的不锈钢外壳。
不锈钢这种板材,无论是我用到的1mm还是2mm厚度,其实有很多种方式来成型加工,况且我要做的形状都是规则的矩形,这些加工方式包括:冲压、圆锯锯片切割、砂轮切割、线切割、等离子切割、激光切割、水切割等等,这些加工方式各有各的特点,就不一一介绍了,前面提到过,本次Divergence Meter这件作品的不锈钢外壳是用激光切割的方式加工的,其实,这并不是刚开始时的选择,无论什么加工方式,先准备好图纸吧。

前后左右加底部,一共5片金属面板要加工,其中左右面板是相同的,所以准备好4张加工图纸:

应该说完美的外形使Divergence Meter与原作有九分形似,匹配的上这个完美的外形还有很长的路要走,那就是如何驱动这8颗辉光管,并且让她最终具备动画中所展示的那些动画特效。不仅如此,我还打算让她具备一些独特的元素,使她更能展示出Steins;Gate的特征。除了这些之外,我们都知道世界线变动率在现实中其实是不存在的,至少现在还没有能证明它存在的学术理论,所以这件作品也不能只是个花瓶,只能摆着看,我打算让她也具备一些实用的功能,例如时钟等等。

在设计电路驱动方案之前,我先把与硬件相关的所要实现的功能列出来:

1. 提高便携性能,能够采用内置锂电池供电(这将是整个电路方案最大的难点所在)。
2. 实现USB供电与充电,并能实现智能电源管理与切换。
3. 为了能使全球不同国家的电子迷和动漫迷都能分享这个作品,我计划让她实现多国语言语音报时(暂定汉语普通话、英语、日语、德语四种语言)。
4. 不再使用单调而刺耳的蜂鸣器来做操作提示和闹钟,实现音乐闹钟和各种操作音效,并能调节音量大小。
5. 具备精确的时钟显示功能,并实现常用的日历、闹钟、温度查看工功能,并支持GPS校时(这些在我之前的辉光钟作品中已经完美实现)。

电路板的组装与调试对于DIY来讲是乐趣所在,也是享受成就感的过程,看着自己设计的电路板实现了自己设定的目标,这对每一个技术宅来说都会像兴奋剂一样。
这次设计Divergence Meter所用到的最小片阻片容封装是0805的,基本没有什么难度,最小的芯片封装是QFN的,对于我这种拿烙铁超过20年的焊工来说也不是问题,所以第一块样板就是用一把小刀头搞定。下面这张照片上的是我按照实际应用的尺寸来设计并手工焊接的第一块PCB,从她开始到最终定型经历了3个版本,每次调整都是为了使她更合理、更稳定、效果更好。

在动漫原作里,我们所看到的Divergence Meter动画镜头并不多,常见的就是7个数字滚动跳跃的镜头,貌似是在测量正在变动跳跃的世界线。其余的镜头中,Divergence Meter总是显示着一个世界线变动率的值,所以这将是我们需要实现的首要功能。为了使朋友们能够定义自己的世界线变动率,本次作品可以存储10组自定义的Divergence值,朋友们可以非常容易的输入和修改这些变动率值,并可以随时调出世界线变动率演示动画。

除此之外,本次作品也设计了丰富的功能,本章将做详细介绍。

Ports on the Divergence Meter

The image above shows the ports on the back of the Meter. From left to right, they are:

1. Main power switch Turn On/Off the Meter. A red LED is built in the button to indicate the power status.
2. MicroUSB port For charging the Meter, as well as upgrading the firmware with a computer if necessary.
3. DC power input DC 3.5/1.35mm, for charging the Meter (faster than using the micro-USB port)
4. LED indicator indicating the charging status. Red indicates charging in progress, and green indicates completion of charging.
5. GPS input 3.5mm port, used to connect a GPS module (sold separately) for time sync with satellites.

IR remote

Power: “soft” power on/off. To shut off completely, used the Main power button on the back of the Meter. Speech: telling you what time it is
Settings: for time date set up etc. Date: display current date (and lunar date)
Alarm: display and setup alarms; Auto-on-off setup. Temperature: display indoor temperature.
方向键:调整位置,主要用于设置的时候调整设置位置。 菜单键:进入菜单,或切换特效等。
确认键:确认保存或放弃设置。 数字键:进行数字输入。

Features

1. Time display 具备实时时钟显示功能,两位小时、两位分钟和两位秒,并且支持12小时格式或24小时格式显示,可显示或取消前导0。
2. Date display 具备实时日期显示功能,两位年、两位月和两位日,并支持农历日期显示,显示格式支持 年-月-日、年-日-月、日-月-年、月-日-年 四种显示格式。
3. Alarm 支持4组闹钟设定,每一组闹钟可独立开启和关闭,并可以独立设置每一组闹钟在周末是否有效。
4. Temperature display 具备温度传感器,可显示实时室内温度,并且可调节温度补偿值,温度单位支持℃和℉两种。
5. Time Speaking
支持实时语音报时功能,报时语言包括中文普通话、英语、德语、日语四种语言,语言种类可通过菜单设置。可以随时按下报时键进行报时,也可以设置一定的间隔时间进行报时。间隔时间可设置为1分钟、2分钟、3分钟、5分钟、10分钟、15分钟、20分钟、30分钟和60分钟。当恰逢整点报时的时候,还将会有前导滴滴声。
6. Volume adjustment
具备8级音量大小调节,0为静音,7级为最大音量。但闹钟音量可以独立设置,无论音效音量设置为多少,闹钟均会按照独立的设置来响铃。
7. Amination动画显示世界线变动率 内置10组世界线变动率值,可方便的使用遥控器修改并存储。
8. 音乐动画演示世界线变动率 具备Steins;Gate音乐伴奏的炫酷动画演示功能。
9. 世界线变动率特效切换 具备两种不同的世界线变动率切换特效。
10. 两种不同时间显示模式 具备标准时间显示模式,例如晚上十点十五分二十秒显示为 22.15.20,和世界线变动率时间显示模式,即1.101520
11. 四种不同的时间显示特效 具备四种不同的时间显示特效:1. 正常切换 2. 淡入淡出 3. 交叉呼吸 4. 翻牌显示
12. 十级特效显示速度 具备10级不同的特效切换速度,可根据喜好设定特效切换的快慢。

14. 支持GPS卫星同步授时 支持外接GPS接收机,波特率可以设置为2400pbs、4800bps和9600bps来适应不同波特率的GPS接收机。
15. GMT时区设置 支持GMT时区设置,设置好以后系统可根据卫星同步授时信号自动换算出当地时间。
16. 定时开关机设置 为了延长辉光管寿命,可以设置自动开机、关机时间,可根据设置自动打开或关闭显示。

在动漫原作中有一个镜头,阿万音铃羽(あまね すずは,Amane Suzuha)从挎包里拿出了一台Divergence Meter,但现实中它确是安装有8颗辉光管的一个带有不锈钢底座的比较重的电子设备,并且能够脱离电源适配器而使用锂电池进行长时间工作。所以为此,我打算为她设计一款专用的包装,既能在运输过程中很好的保护Divergence Meter,又能方便朋友们出门携带着她。

事实上在之前的创作当中,我还从未特意为作品设计专用的包装,而这次我根据Divergence Meter的外形尺寸绘制了3D模型,和许多高精端仪器设备一样使用EVA泡棉设计了嵌入式的全方位包装,请见下图:
